The Work Files: saying goodbye to SEO

I’ll spare y’all the gory details, but suffice to say, my association with the Internet Marketing company has come to an end.

I’ll admit to mixed feelings. Sure, I thought it was a great opportunity at first – but facts soon proved me wrong. Sure, I thought I’d learn a lot – but again, facts soon proved that much of what I was learning, I did not want to know.

On the other hand, it was what my little comfort loving and control freakish brain liked: security.

Stepping into the world of the unknown is something I do tentatively and with much trepidation. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

The goodbyes were not amicable. Which for me is an odd feeling. I could walk back into the magazine publisher today and still be greeted with smiles and hugs, and I’d probably be put to work even if I was only there for a visit.

I’m sorry to say goodbye to my writers, and to some of the crew.

I’m not sorry to have bid farewell to that little cube, tucked in the corner. I’m not sorry to say hasta la vista to the rest of the problems, policies and attitudes.

And so: goodbye SEO, it was nice knowin’ ya!
